Database Forensics Project
The Challenge
To ensure that resource estimates are being based on sound and robust geological data and modelling parameters and techniques. Operations do not have the time to step back and review the current and historical data from which the geological model is being generated from.

Our Approach
Databases and the resultant models have usually been defined around a maximum parting / split thickness. How consistent and accurately has this been recorded over the years with multiple geologists and exploration programs?
Sample mismatches may occur between the sample as picked in the sample quality table and the actual seam limits picked in the drill hole. Encompass Mining have developed queries aimed at identifying samples that have mismatches between either single ply samples or composite samples.
The Result
Removal of erroneous thicknesses of parting material in the seams as well as sample mismatches will result in an accurate estimation of resources and representative quality values.
